Therapy Services

You are not alone. At any given time, you may find it difficult to make sense of where you are in life or in your relationships. You may feel weighed down in a cycle that’s taking over your daily activities and interactions. The fact is, your struggle is real and relatable.

So, the question is, where would you be if you weren’t experiencing this issue?

Through a series of sessions between you and your therapist you will be actively learning to look within, working towards manageable change, and growing in adaption.

You have the capacity to reflect on the impact of your past, understand the function of it in the present, and work towards building a more meaningful future by taking incremental steps towards healing and clarity.

“…reality is not neat, not obvious, not what you expect” C.S. Lewis

ABOUT ME

Welcome! My name is Aline Jekmeian and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Lic. #117310 in the State of California.

Respectively, I have earned my M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, and a distinct M.A. in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from California State Dominguez Hills.

For the past several years I have committed to partnering with non-profits, hospitals, and community mental health clinics treating individuals, couples, and families with complex issues ranging from depression, anxiety, life stage distress, traumatic experiences, and cancer related mental health issues. My efforts within these frameworks has been to focus on and address my clients’ needs from a whole person approach. This translates into thoughtfully assessing the biological, psychological, and social components and stressors of each unique individual.

Community Work –

  • Part of my work has been in developing and managing a program for cancer patients in partnership with hospitals and community cancer centers. You can find the program details highlighted in this Los Angeles Times article. https://www.latimes.com/socal/glendale-news-press/news/tn-gnp-me-armenian-cancer-20190301-story.html
  • Recently, I have had the pleasure of leading a community wide professional panel covering mental health, financial, and medical issues regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, with several dozens of community members in attendance benefiting from the presentations.

Every client has a unique set of circumstances and issues that they carry with them. Therefore, my approach to therapy involves tailoring a unique and collaborative treatment plan that focuses on reaching your specific goals.

From the first consultation session I take into account the reality of your circumstances. And, if you believe I am the right fit for you then we can move forward into therapy sessions.

My treatment in therapy involves proven and evidenced based approaches that have been effective in research and in real life circumstances for decades with countless individuals, couples, and families.

Over the course of several years I have come to draw from and practice the proven methods found in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths Based, and Solutions Focused to be most effective in assisting clients reach their goals.
